Chrysoprase

Apple green chalcedony that derives its color from nickel is Chrysoprase.  Ranging from nearly opaque to nearly transparent, its color spectrum includes apple-green to olive, to nearly pure greens of medium tone.   The best known sources of Chrysoprase are Queensland, Western Australia, Germany, Poland, Russia, Arizona, California, and Brazil.

Chrysoprase is cryptocrystalline, which means that it is composed of crystals so fine that they cannot be seen as distinct particles under normal magnification. This sets it apart from rock crystal, amethyst, citrine, and the other varieties of crystalline quartz which are basically transparent and formed from easily recognized six-sided crystals. Unlike many non-transparent silica minerals, it is the color of Chrysoprase, rather than any pattern of markings, that makes it desirable.

Chrysoprase instills a living state of grace within the user, facilitating deep meditation and compassionate clemency.  It provides for non-judgmental attitudes and actions, acceptance of others, acceptance of self, and savoir-faire.  The mineral helps one to recognize the trinity within oneself; assisting one in extricating oneself from states of imperfection.
